SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. (KTXL) — California’s largest reservoir is in the northern part of the state and has 225 miles of shoreline. Shasta Lake was formed after Shasta Dam was built along the Sacramento River.

Shasta Lake boasts opportunities for fishing, water recreation and cave exploration, as well as several marinas that rent out houseboats, rafts and kayaks.
