Each week FOX40 salutes the service of those making a difference in their community. Today, we focused on the good work taking place in Oak Park to help the homeless.

Local man Allah Karriem is getting his hair cut at Supreme Barber Lounge, the barbershop that has teamed up with Momo's Meat Market to aid homeless people in the area.

Nick Finks, the barbershop's owner, gives free haircuts to homeless individuals with the goal of raising awareness about the growing issue in the community and to prove other people can make a difference, too.

He got Momo's Meat Market, located next to the barbershop, on board as well to provide free food. This year the two businesses have held two events to give free haircuts and free food to the homeless. They are trying to hold the events on a monthly basis.
