3 People hit by Van at Stockton Market

Just after 5 p.m. 3 people were hit by a van that accelerated at a flea market in Stockton.

According to Officer James Smith with California Highway Patrol, the victims, 2 women and 1 man were taken to a hospital for injuries. The accident caused minor injuries for one of the women and major injuries to the other woman and man.

Police say there has been no evidence that the driver hit the people intentionally, and they are currently investigating the possibility of the van having a mechanical issue.

Along with the 3 people, the van hit market booths and another parked vehicle. One pedestrian got trapped under a table.

The driver had not been drinking alcohol or taking drugs, and the scene is now clear.The driver was not hurt in the accident, and police have not filed charges as of 9 p.m. on Sunday, but they are still investigating.
