MEXICO CITY, Mexico —

Governor Brown and his Mexican counterparts made it clear, immigration is a priority. The issue: how to approach the crisis.

In all of his meetings, he assured Mexican leaders he will work with them and is sympathetic to kids crossing the border. That included a private meeting with President Enrique Peña Nieto.

While no agreements on immigration came out of these meetings, the Governor said he wants to address the issue in a thoughtful way that addresses the best interest of the kids.

He also called sending National Guard troops to the border a short term solution.

The governor said church leaders play an important role in the immigration crisis. He’ll meet with them tomorrow afternoon.
