Cal Fire announced this morning that people should be much more cautious of outdoor fires because of gusty winds.

The increased fire risk is enough for Cal Fire to declare a Red Flag Warning.

According to Cal Fire’s website, the Red Flag Warning is issued by The National Weather Service to alert fire departments of critical weather and dry conditions that could lead to a large increase in wildfire activity.

This Red Flag Warning encompasses almost the entire central valley, so Cal Fire is warning all in the area to be very cautious about potential fire hazards. For more information on the Red Flag Warning, you can visit Cal Fire’s website here.

Greg Cotta and Marin Austin filed this report.
