Catholics across California are being asked to pray for rain amid concerns of a state-wide drought.

Bishop Jaime Soto, of Sacramento, said the request was not for just Catholics but people of other faiths as well.

The request comes just one day after the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation said the flow from Nimbus Dam into the American River would be cut in half.
