A convicted killer has been found guilty of strangling his prison pen pal, a retired Hollywood High School English teacher.

City News Service says 46-year-old Scott Kratlian was convicted Tuesday of killing 82-year-old Harry Major last year. He could face life in prison with a chance for parole.

Major’s body was found in the bathtub of his Hollywood apartment in February of 2014.

Authorities say Kratlian was serving time in New York for a 1993 manslaughter conviction when Major became his pen pal.

Kratlian was released late in 2013. Authorities say Kratlian eventually came to Los Angeles and hooked up with Major.

Prosecutors say Kratlian used Major’s credit card after killing him.
