Texting system to help domestic violence victims

The last few months of sheltering in place have been a very difficult time for thousands of Californians trapped in domestic violence situations.

Critical response company RapidDeploy is now partnering with the state to implement two-way texting with 911 operators so that victims who may hang up after dialing can get a silent text message back from the operator.

This system will help victims remain discreet in dangerous situations.
