A car on fire has slowed the Monday morning commute on Highway 50 to a crawl in Sacramento.

Emergency crews first responded to the fire shortly before 7:30 a.m. The California Highway Patrol says the car’s hood is on fire on eastbound 50 near 65th Street.

Traffic is nearly stopped in both directions.

Heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the car on a Cal Trans camers

The woman from the car is reportedly out and O.K.

The CHP says the fire was extinguished nearly 20 minutes after crews first responded.
