WEST SACRAMENTO –

A CHP patrol plane made an emergency landing just after 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

According to CHP, the Cessna was on a routine patrol just west of the Capitol when its engine died.

The pilot was able to glide the plane safely to the CHP academy in West Sacramento. Both passengers on board – the pilot and the flight officer – were unhurt.

CHP say that they will do a thorough investigation on the plane Monday.
