Cal Fire has asked the California Highway Patrol to investigate allegations that sex tapes involving firefighters were made at state facilities, spokesman Daniel Berlant said Wednesday.

Berlant said that, given the nature of the supposed illegal activity, Cal Fire wanted an outside agency to investigate.

Rumors of sex tapes featuring Cal Fire personnel and prostitutes had circulated after former Cal Fire Battalion Chief Orville “Moe” Fleming was accused of murdering his fiance, a former prostitute.

Berlant called the allegations “unsubstantiated.”
