Davis Police Investigate Attempted Kidnapping

DAVIS — The Davis Police Department is investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday a man reportedly grabbed a 12-year-old girl by the wrist as she walked in the area of Oceano Way and Arena Drive.

The victim said the man jumped out from behind a fence.

Officers say the victim pulled away, ran and hid in some bushes where she called her dad. When the  victim’s dad arrived they called the police.

The suspect is described a young white male approximately 25 years old and 6 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall with an average size build. He had short black hair and brown/hazel eyes.

The victim reported that the suspect was wearing a black mask covering his mouth and nose, black gloves, a black jacket, black pants and grey shoes.
