Conditions in the Sierra have been so warm and dry, one ski resort is closed until further notice.

Donner Ski Ranch posted the following message on its website:

“Donner Ski Ranch will be closed this week due to the warm, snow-free weather impacting the Sierra Nevada. We will re-group and try our best to re-open the slopes Saturday January 24. Stay tuned for the most up-to-date information. Thank you!”

Donner Ski Ranch relies on natural snow. The resort does not have the snowmaking technology that has helped some of its neighboring resorts stay open during this dry time.
