Never in a million years did Jennifer Myer ask for anyone to remodel her South Sacramento home.

“It’s just beautiful,” Meyer blurted out Sunday morning just after 11 a.m., when more than 50 volunteers revealed her big surprise.

“Jennifer is a hard-working, single mom. She has given so much so we wanted to give back to her. She adopted two eight-year-old children from Ethiopia, and two brothers from Sacramento,” said COO of IMS Facility Maintenance Services based in Sacramento.

The company brought several people and organizations together to remodel the home of one family in need. The Myer family has a new backyard, a white picket fence, new appliances, a fully remodeled kitchen and new paint, to name a few.

“She won’t have to spend any money maintaining this for several years,” one volunteer said.

Between materials and labor, the one day project was estimated to cost about $50,000.

“We are so thankful. Nothing like this has ever happened to us,” Myer said.
