SACRAMENTO-

What was supposed to be the Crest Theatre’s first concert under new management, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Chrisette Michele, didn’t happen.

“Unfortunately, the very first show at the Crest was canceled,” new manager Yulya Borrum said. “The promoter couldn’t reach an agreement with the artist.”

Around 60 to 75 fans paid $70 for tickets.

“All the tickets have been refunded,” Borrum told FOX40.

All, except for two. Jacqueline Russell drove to Sacramento from the Bay Area to see an empty stage.

“We just went online and November 7th at 8 p.m. is still advertised on various websites,” Russell said. She’s out $140. “We’re extremely frustrated. There’s no contact info.”

Verified social media accounts for the singer still advertise a Sacramento date.

FOX40 reached out to Chrisette Michele. Her public relations manager, Lynette Payne, says the singer no longer controls those verified accounts and the promoter booked the show without her permission.
