SACRAMENTO — Kida Burns, a 14-year-old boy from Sacramento, has come a long way in his journey to the stage on hit show “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation”.

Kida wowed the judges with his hip-hop dance moves from the beginning, and now has made it to the top 8 finalists.

Monday, Sheaden Gabriel was eliminated on “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation”, after Ruby Castro was saved by judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo and Maddie Ziegler.

Kida previously told FOX40 that he draws his inspiration from his late father, Leon, who died from a flu virus in 2014.

“Every time I go on that stage, that’s what I think of,” Kida said of his father. “I think of him. And I know he’s watching down smiling down on me right now. So he’s gonna be on my mind, and I dedicate every performance to him.”

The next episode airs Monday August 1 on FOX.
