Fairfield Man Severely Injured Making Fireworks

Wednesday afternoon a 42-year-old man was severely burned and injured after an explosion occurred while he was assembling fireworks.

Police responded to a home in the 1700 block of Caitlin Drive where they found Anthony Stewart after receiving calls about a loud explosion.

Stewart was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening burns to his body.

Officers also found a large amount of undetonated devices and explosive material in the home's garage.

Residents immediately surrounding the home were evacuated and re-located for the night.
