Many Sacramento Kings fans didn't have to think twice about getting a tattoo of the newly unveiled Kings logo, especially if it was going to be free.
"I got the "SAC" tattoo. It show how faithful, how proud we are. We're the king of the jungle!" fan, Racquel Clark said.
The Royal Peacock tattoo parlor partnered up with the Kings to provide 42 free tattoos on a first come first serve basis.
David Lobatas stood in line at 11 o' clock Tuesday night. He was determined to be first fan to walk away with brand new ink.
"Born and raised in Sacramento. Sac. Sacramento. Kings, that's my team!" Lobatas said.
Fans get three choices: the lion with the ball, profile of Slamson's head, or the letters "SAC".
"The SAC tattoo is going to have so much pride for people. It's where they're from. Who they represent," Kings representative, Scott Moak said.
Any of these designs drawn by talented artists would usually cost them at least $140. Today it's free.
Many fans said free or not, they would have gotten these tattoos anyway. They said this is just their way of showing their eternal support of their favorite team.
"I didn't even think twice about it," fan, Juan Agundez said.
"I have a Kings tattoo already. I love the Kings I just love that it brings everybody together," fan, Daniel Schmitt said.
Life long Kings fan Isaac Hernandez says he's using the opportunity to get his first ever tattoo.
"Ouch, Oh, I can't even think right now," Hernandez said.
For 30 minutes, he muscled through it, saying no pain no gain.
"Hopefully [Demarcus] Cousins is seeing this." Hernandez said.
He is praying his sports idol knows that only true fans bleed purple.
Four other tattoo parlors in the Sacramento region also participated in the tattoo-a-thon.
They include Honeymoon Tattoo in Fair Oaks, California Tattoo in Citrus Heights, Quarter Horse Tattoo in Stockton, and Crimson Needles in Penryn.
Even after the free promotions, many continued giving the tattoos for discounted prices.
