Spring has sprung in the Sacramento area, and that means business is good for vendors at farmers’ markets.

“It was so busy, we had to run to the farm in between to pick fresh stuff and run back here,” vendor Rachel Hubbard said.

Sacramento is the self-proclaimed Farm-to-Fork capital of the country, and it’s evident at the farmers’ market under Highway 50 along W Street.

“In the spring they want to cleanse, they want to start over fresh. And so it’s a good time to start eating fresh local produce,” vendor Billie Jean Salle said.

Shoppers were at the market Sunday looking for everything from cheese to oranges to bread.
