Stockton Triplex FireSTOCKTON –

A fire blazed through a two-story Stockton triplex early Tuesday morning.

The fire started around 7 a.m. at a home on Porterfield Court near the West Swain Road and Pacific Avenue intersection.

Part of the outside of the triplex was charred, windows were shattered, a gutter on the roof was mangled from the heat, and part of a garbage bin melted.

Firefighters said one unit of the units was occupied by squatters. Neighbors said the person in one of the units had been evicted a few days ago. It has not been confirmed if the squatters were the former residents.

No one was injured and a cause is still being investigated.
