Flames tore through two homes and an auto yard Thursday evening on Stockton Boulevard in south Sacramento.

The fire is near Roosevelt Avenue, north of Fruitridge Road. Part of Stockton Boulevard was shut down.

Cars on the auto yard property also caught fire, and parts began to pop. Live power lines were also a problem for firefighters, as they had to wait for them to be deactivated in order to stamp out more hot spots.

It was not immediately known what caused the fire. Fire department investigators believe the fire started in a garage. Arson investigators are also on scene.
