Things are pretty busy and cramped at VSP One in Sacramento. The company is doubling their size and expanding to Folsom. They are also looking to create 200 new union jobs.

“We are literally walking on top of each other,” said Dave Delle Donne SVP of Business Development, VSP Optics.

In addition to the 200 jobs the company is creating, there are also openings for finance business analysts, project managers, engineers, web developers, architects and testers.

If you don’t think you have the experience, VSP has a comprehensive training program to teach employees the skills they need to know

So who is VSP? Most people think eye insurance when they hear of the company, but they’re a lot more than that.

“We’re the third largest frame, manufacturer, designer in the world. We also have our VSP optics group that produces prescription glasses. We have a large national network of 11 laboratories,” said Delle Donne.

They also recently teamed up with Google to make the prescription lenses for Google Glass. VSP members get reimbursed for a portion of the frame.

“It seems to be a very natural partnership, Google being a leading innovator in the world, VSP being a global leader in eye care,” Delle Donne said.
