SACRAMENTO-
Actress Halle Berry was in Sacramento Tuesday to testify in favor of a bill that would penalize paparrazi for harassing children.
Senate Bill 606, which amends Section 11414 of the California Penal Code, cleared a legislative committee later that day.
The punishment would be up to six months in a county jail or a fine up to $1,000, or both, for the first conviction. The fines and jail time would increase with each conviction.
The bill specifies harassment as “alarming, annoying, tormenting or terrorizing.”
