Samantha Green and Frank Rees in Court Today

The parents of Baby Justice who was found in the Ridge Cut Slough in Knights Landing will be appearing in court today.

Justice’s mother, Samantha Green, was arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail early Saturday morning and is facing a murder charge. The Yolo County Sheriff’s department says Green was the “sole individual responsible for the death of her child.”

Meanwhile the baby’s father, Frank Rees, is also appearing in court for unrelated charges.

On Sunday, he was arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail on misdemeanor charges that include driving on a suspended license due to a DUI conviction, and not having proof of insurance.

Downtown Arena Construction Taking Shape

After four months of demolition, the building process now begins for the new Kings arena. This morning, crews will be installing the first vertical purple steel beam for the team’s practice facility.

The entire Sacramento Entertainment Sports Complex is expected to be completed by October 2016.

Dead Animal Investigation Continues

More animal remains are discovered in Sacramento. Last night, two bags of mutilated animals were found on the rail tracks downtown near 20th and U Streets.

It’s reported the bags contained a decapitated rabbit, chickens with their feet cut off and tea candles.

This find, is the at least the 8th case of mutilated animals found.

Anyone who has any information regarding these killings is urged to contact Animal Control.
