SACRAMENTO-
The man suspected of shooting three Sheriff’s deputies, killing two, had been deported twice, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
A statement from ICE says Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte, otherwise known as Marcelo Marquez, now has an immigration detainer against him.
He is currently in Sacramento County Jail, facing murder, attempted murder and carjacking charges.
The suspected gunman was first removed from the U.S. by an immigration judge in 1997 after a drug conviction in Arizona. He was arrested and deported again in 2001.
His wife, Janelle Marquez-Monroy, was also booked into jail on carjacking and attempted murder charges.
