DIXON — An elderly man and woman died early Sunday morning after the vehicle they were in rolled over on Interstate 80 in Dixon, CHP says.

According to CHP, the two were riding eastbound on I-80 in a 2003 Toyota Tundra around 2:25 a.m., when, for unknown reasons, the driver of the truck began drifting off the roadway. After trying to turn left back onto the road, the truck overturned several times.

Four passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the rollover, but only the driver and one passenger—an unidentified 71-year-old man of Elk Grove and a 69-year-old woman of Sacramento—died from their injuries.

Two other women, identified as 62-year-old Maria Dixon and 51-year-old Marina Soto, both of Elk Grove, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

According to CHP, drugs and alcohol don’t appear to a be a cause of the accident.
