SACRAMENTO -- Three people were injured in a house fire late Christmas Eve in North Sacramento.

Neighbors captured cellphone video as the house on Willow Street went up in flames.

Theresa Muse was staying a few doors down when she heard a commotion.

“I thought how unfortunate for someone on Christmas, house to be burning and there was somebody laying on the ground. I don’t know if they pulled them from the fire or what," Muse said.

The Sacramento Fire Department said at least one person was critically hurt and two others were stable.

The firefighting effort was complicated by add-ons to the home and what officials described as "shoddy construction."

It was not immediately known how the fire started.
