STANISLAUS COUNTY — A 16-year-old has died and two other people were injured following an accident between a boat and a personal watercraft at the Modesto Reservoir.
The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire were dispatched to the scene near Berenda Beach and Vivians Cove at 11:49 a.m. Sunday. Deputies and firefighters found three people who were injured in the crash, and they were all transported to area hospitals.
One of the victims, a 16-year-old boy, later died from his injuries.
“He was barely going out, and the boat was just jamming, and you heard a big crash, it was just horrible,” said witness Gabriella Young.
Deputies are still investigating to determine what events led up to the crash.
