STOCKTON –

With temperatures expected to soar above 100 degrees in the Valley this weekend, FOX40 visited some very busy air conditioning repairmen.

“Those units should be serviced twice a year, before the heating, before the cold comes,” said Nino Khader of Nino’s Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning.

“Now’s the time to take care of it instead of letting your unit burn out,” advised technician Bill McLachlan of Stockton Ace Hardware.

In addition to professional maintenance, the two technicians stressed the importance of keeping a clean air filter.

Depending on the amount of use and the grade of filter, professionals recommend replacing air filters every one- to three months.  In a worst case scenario, a dirty air filter can lead to a system burnout.  A filter costs only a few dollars at a local hardware store.  The cost of entirely replacing a blown out system can run into the thousands.
