SACRAMENTO — A woman’s life was saved Wednesday after a barking dog woke her up during a house fire.

Firefighters responded to a home on Brady Court, near 14th Avenue and 65th Street, around 3 p.m.

The woman who lives at the home said she was asleep when the fire broke out, but her dog woke her up, saving her life. She said she’s lived in that home for 40 years.

Flames were contained to just one home, but some trees and utility lines were damaged.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.
