Northbound traffic along Highway 99 in Ripon slowed to a crawl early Wednesday after a big rig crashed and spilled its cargo all over the roadway.
Highway Patrol first reported the crash shortly before 1 a.m. near Jack Tone Road. The truck was carrying soap, toothpaste and Tobasco Sauce, among other things.
Traffic was reduced to one lane for much of the morning. A second lane opened just before 7 a.m.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
