A child was hit and dragged by an SUV Thursday morning in Vacaville near Willis Jepsen Middle School.

According to Vacaville Police, the boy, 12, was crossing Deodara Street at North Orchard Avenue on his bike when he was hit. Investigators said the driver simply didn’t see the boy.

The boy was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg, but no other serious injuries, officers said.

Police used the crash to remind drivers to slow down and be more cautious, especially as students are arriving and leaving school.
