CHP: Two Vehicles Hit Pedestrians in North Highlands Intersection, Killing Man

NORTH HIGHLANDS — CHP officers launched an investigation Wednesday night in North Highlands after two pedestrians were hit by two different vehicles.

Just before 10 p.m., a man and a woman were walking southbound in the crosswalk at Madison and Date avenues when they were hit by the vehicles, according to the CHP.

They were first hit by a vehicle in the slow lane before they were hit a second time by another vehicle.

The CHP reports the man died and the woman sustained major injuries. Their identities have not been reported.

The CHP reports the drivers in the vehicles stopped and stayed at the scene.

Eastbound Madison Avenue is blocked at Date Avenue while the investigation continues.
