SACRAMENTO — A driver died Saturday after being ejected from his car, which rolled over onto the man, killing him.

The 31-year-old driver died after losing control of his car as he traveled southbound on Sampson Boulevard, according to Michael Bradley with the CHP.

The man veered his 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer to the left of the roadway, striking a parked car. He was ejected from his car out of the passenger side window.

The Chevrolet rolled over and onto the man, who had landed face down in a grassy parking lot.

CHP officers and Sacramento fire personnel responded to the crash site after 10:15 p.m. With the help of bystanders, they were able to roll the vehicle off the man.

Officials pronounced the 31-year-old dead at the scene, according to Bradley.

No one else was injured.

The CHP is still investigating the incident and do not know whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Sampson Boulevard is a residential street just south of Fruitridge Road.
