SACRAMENTO-

A Sacramento restaurant owner, written a citation for allegedly wasting water while keeping his patio area clean, tells FOX40 the city has apologized for the fine.

Daniel Flores told FOX40 earlier this week he was slapped with a $50 fine for “flooding the parked area”, which was his restaurant’s parking lot next to the patio.

California health and safety codes mandate levels of cleanliness, and Flores said he was cleaning his outdoor patio area when he was given the citation.

Flores says someone from the city called him Wednesday to apologize for how the water enforcement staff handled the situation.

The city employee told Flores they had received multiple reports from one of his neighbors, and that’s why they responded to his restaurant.

They removed the ticket, and are working with Flores to rectify the situation.
