The city of Sacramento has issued a voluntary water boil advisory for the Pocket neighborhood, west of Interstate 5.

According to a notice from the city, bacteria was found during routine water sampling in the area.

“We are not aware of any health issues,” the notice read.

Residents are urged to boil their tap water for a minute, then allow it to cool, before drinking or cooking, “until further notice.”

The city of Sacramento said Monday afternoon that an additional test for coliform came back negative, but the voluntary advisory has not been lifted.

The city also ran a test Monday and they are expecting results Tuesday morning. The city said it is confident it will have another negative result.
