The Davis Police Department is warning residents of fraudulent solicitors.

Individuals are going door-to-door collecting donations for the “Second Chance Football Program,” which they falsely claim is sponsored by the City of Davis, according to police.

Residents say the suspects are accepting only cash or check donations.

The Davis Police Department wants residents to know that the city does not fund programs by sending solicitors door to door.

If you are contacted by individuals claiming to be raising money for this program, police recommend not donating to them and reporting to police immediately so they can be contacted and identified.
