RIO LINDA —

Deputies searching for a homicide suspect in Rio Linda on Monday night came up empty-handed.

The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department was assisting the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office with the search. A SWAT team set up a perimeter around a home on the 6800 block of Ninth Avenue where they believed a suspect might be holed up.

Deputies could be heard shouting for Jonnyrae Witt to come out of the house.

Witt is accused of killing his girlfriend, Leslie Cramblit, in Yuba County over the weekend, according to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office.

Neighboring houses were evacuated as a precaution.

After several hours, deputies determined the suspect was not inside the house.

Anyone with information on Witt’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office at  (530) 749-7777.
