
CITRUS HEIGHTS --
A man was shot and killed by Citrus Heights Police on Monday night after police say he fired gunshots at them.
The shooting occurred at the Greenback Manor apartment complex on the 7500 block of Greenback Lane, according to police.
Police responded to a domestic violence call between a man and woman at the apartment complex. When officers arrived on scene, the man started firing a handgun at officers, police said.
Officers returned fire, hitting and killing the man, who has only been identified as a 35-year-old white man. Police also said he was the father of three children.
It is not known how many shots were fired or how many hit the man.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
