Early Morning Fire Kills Couple and Numerous Animals

SACRAMENTO –

Sacramento Metro Firefighters battled a blaze on Georgetown Drive around 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

Firefighters found flames blowing from the front of the house when they arrived at the scene.

Once they put out the fire, firefighters found an elderly couple trapped inside.

Both the man and woman died, as well as their dogs, cats, and birds.

The house had extensive damage and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
