Crews from Cal Fire and several surrounding agencies aggressively attacked a fire that broke out early Monday afternoon off Mount Murphy Road in rural El Dorado County.
The fire was contained to three acres of one privately-owned parcel.
Three mobile homes, two sheds and 10 motor vehicles were destroyed on that property.
The fire had the potential to spread through the heavily wooded surroundings and become a much larger incident, according to Cal Fire.
“We put a lot of resources at the right place, and used our aircraft to our advantage as well to assist ground resources,” said Cal Fire Battalion Chief Mark Brunton. “And they were very successful at containing it.”
Crews were battling the flames in 100 degree heat.
One firefighter was hospitalized with heat-related symptoms.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The landowner told FOX40 it was accidental.
