SOUTH SACRAMENTO — Two large car storage yards burned in South Sacramento late Thursday night.

The fire burned on McComber Street near Florin Road.

Multiple car gas tanks could be heard exploding as the cars caught fire.

According to Sac Metro Fire, the blaze started as a grass fire and spread into the wrecking yard.

More than 200 cars were damaged by flames, according to Metro Fire. No injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the fire began at a homeless encampment nearby.
