SACRAMENTO — Fire crews responded to a call Sunday morning about a man stuck in a trash compactor.

Workers at the Goodwill on 5400 Date Ave. discovered a homeless man inside their industrial trash compactor as they went to turn it on.

The man had been sleeping in the compactor and yelled at the employees when they opened it up.

The employees called the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department who were able to pull the homeless man out. He escaped without injury.

The homeless man has been cited for loitering and drug possession.
