Giants Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda marvels at the young team – World Champions for the second time in just three years.

“Amazing the way they came back because Cincinnati have a great team,” Cepeda said. “Then, we play St. Louis, two games behind and we came back.

“Then we play Detroit, and Detroit have the best pitcher in the game… What they did, the San Francisco Giants is history.”

Among the highlights of Game No. 1, Pablo Sandoval’s three home runs.

“I feel so great for him,” Cepeda said. “I play ball for so many years. I know the way he feels. I’m really, really, really lucky that I was a baseball player.”

And among today’s players, Cepeda says he sees himself most in Buster Posey. Cepeda was just 20 when he started.

He also sees himself in Sandoval, who has proven himself in a short amount of time.

“As a baseball player, you always have to prove, no matter what you do yesterday, you have to come back today,” he said.

Cepeda will be among the Hall of Famers in attendance, riding a cable car, at the celebration parade in San Francisco.

“I am so fortunate and so proud that I’m still involved with this great organization,” he added. “Won in 2010 and 2012. Listen, you can’t ask for anything else.”
