The Yolo County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal Amtrak accident that killed one pedestrian.
It’s reported that this happened sometime after 4:30 a.m. on County Road 105 and County Road 32A near Davis. It’s reported the train was traveling westbound when it hit the pedestrian.
At this point, investigators are not sure why the pedestrian was on the tracks at the time of the accident.
There are still passengers aboard the train as deputies continue to investigate the scene.
As of 7a.m., Amtrak service has been shut down, and is reported to resume within an hour.
The pedestrian in the accident has not been identified at this time.
