YUBA CITY —
Jesus Zuniga Moreno, a teacher at Lindhurst High School in Olivehurst, been arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a minor and furnishing minors with marijuana.
“Shouldn’t allow it. Shouldn’t be happening at the high school level,” said Lindhurst parent Kenneth Steele.
The 44-year-old Moreno has been a Spanish teacher at Lindhurst for years.
Investigators say he brought former students to his Yuba City home for the illegal drug and physical activity.
Neighbors pointed out the home Moreno shares with his family, but no one answered the door when FOX40 stopped by.
One woman named Sandra – a close personal friend of Moreno and the mother of a former student – started crying when she learned about the arrest, shedding tears she said for the reported victims and Moreno.
What’s happened just doesn’t make any sense to her.
“He was all out there. He was a good guy, always into the community,” she said. “Very friendly. He had us over to his home. He’d invite us over… it’s just pretty hard.”
Late Thursday night Moreno remained behind bars on $50,000 bail.
