Hundreds Gather for Slain Teen’s Vigil

More than 500 people showed up at Friday nights vigil for Genelle Conway-Allen, among the crowd her family just trying to cope.

“I’m coping okay I guess,” said Josh Allen, Genelle’s father.

Candles were lit and prayers were recited in hopes of bring some peace to the young life lost.

Parents clung to their children glad that the man police believe is responsible, 32-year-old Anthony Lamar Jones, is behind bars, and worried that more like him could be lurking around every corner.

“I’m glad. I hope they got the right guy and there is justice,” said Allen.

Genelle, 13, was found dead one week earlier in Allen Witt park.
