STOCKTON --

With a blow torch and just the right technique, this air conditioner installation is making an unlikely emotional mark on one Stockton family.

The Arevalo's old a/c was snipped off this concrete block and stolen from their fenced backyard shortly after the expecting parents bought their first home.

And the bill for a replacement would have been a whopping $2,600 hadn't FOX40 stepped in to help. We connected the family with long standing Stockton company, Rod Johnson Air, and they stepped up to the plate — providing the brand new unit free of charge.

The City of Stockton has already had three a/c unit thefts this year. A cumbersome crime Dennis Allen says averages only $20 in scrap metal and spares absolutely no consideration for the families it victimizes — leaving them with a hot home on 100 degrees summer days.
