Dozens gathered at the Sacramento County Republican Headquarters on Wednesday night to watch the top 11 Republican candidates go head to head in the second GOP debate.
Tensions flared as all the politicians took the stage at the Reagan Library while viewers clapped and cheered throughout the debate.
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina was a fan favorite at the viewing party.
"I'm very impressed with her. I think she would be a great president,"said Sue Frost, mayor of Citrus Heights.
David Morgan with the Sacramento State College Republicans was focused on another candidate.
"Rubio was showing up he's one of the few that brought answers," he said.
From Russia's threat to national security to defunding Planned Parenthood, the debate never lacked controversial topics. Donald Trump went head to head with Ben Carson on vaccinations leading to autism, which didn't sit well with some viewers.
"It's by far the most ridiculous thing I've heard in this entire debate," said Ryan Brown.
The legalization of marijuana was another subject on the minds of many. That topic brought Jeb Bush's experience with experimenting with pot to the debate.
Climate change was another hot button issue discussed. Answers by many candidates led to applause from the audience at the party.
Through all the talk about how to move our country forward, the Republicans of River City who hosted the event want to remind people of the most important way to make that happen.
"Find out what's going on and then get out and vote," said President Carl Burton.
