VACAVILLE—

Police have arrested a man wanted in a shooting that happened right next to the Kaiser Hospital Tuesday evening.

According to a media release from Vacaville Police, officers showed up at the hospital after Lopez showed up at the emergency room. He was shot multiple times.

The 24-year-old man, identified as Xavier Lopez, later died from his injuries.

Detectives soon linked a shooting in Fairfield to Xavier. Police believe that Xavier had actually shot a person in Fairfield multiple times after a “short, but intense, confrontation,” sending that man to another hospital.

Later, near Kaiser Vacaville, Xavier and his half-brother German Lopez got into another fight, resulting in the shooting that eventually took Xavier’s life.

German was arrested at Fairfield Police headquarters Wednesday and charged with murder. Police don’t believe there are any outstanding suspects in the case.

The man shot in Fairfield, who is not being identified at this time, is expected to survive.
